Brangelina donate $1m to children
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have announced that they have each donated $1 million to two organisations, Global Action for Children and Medicins san Frontieres (MSF) or 'Doctors Without Borders'. The funding comes as part of the pair's newly formed charitable organisation, the Jolie/Pitt Foundation.'In the most troubled parts of the world places that much of the world has abandoned MSF is always there,' said Jolie in a statement issued by Trevor Neilson, the couple's philanthropic and political adviser. 'I have seen these brave men and women working in war zones and horrific conditions and I deeply admire them.'Angelina has been a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commission for refugees since she spent time in Cambodia filming 'Tomb Raider'. The actress has also adopted two of her children from Cambodia and Ethiopia. Pitt and Jolie, who met while filming 'Mr and Mrs Smith', have a biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel. Jennifer Delaney, US director for Global Action for Children, said that the effort shown by the movie star couple helps to bring awareness and make a difference in people's lives. 'Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by Aids by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying,' she said.
